There is something special about making music together—and we are always excited to welcome new musicians to the Symphony of Riverside.
We invite musicians who play standard orchestral instruments—strings, woodwinds, brass, and percussion—to audition for the orchestra. There is no age limit. What matters most to us is your musicianship, your preparation, and your ability to contribute to the ensemble.
Our musicians come together because they share a love of great orchestral music and the experience of performing it with others.
Acceptance into the orchestra is based on playing level rather than age. Auditions help us determine whether a musician is prepared to successfully perform the standard orchestral repertoire programmed by the Symphony of Riverside.
Our concert cycles typically include six weeks of rehearsal, meeting once each week. Because our rehearsal time together is focused, musicians should be comfortable preparing their parts independently between rehearsals and arriving ready to rehearse as an ensemble.
We look for musicians who demonstrate:
Whether you are an experienced orchestral musician, a music educator, an advanced student, or someone returning to your instrument after time away, we encourage you to consider auditioning.
You don't need to fit a particular age or background. If you have the playing ability, preparation skills, and enthusiasm to perform great orchestral music, we would love to hear you.
Take the next step and audition for the Symphony of Riverside.
Come make music with us.
